2. Informational nature
The content of this site, including the blog guides and the virtual assistant's answers, is general and informational only. It is not legal or notarial advice for a specific case, and its use creates no attorney-client relationship. A professional relationship only arises from an express agreement between you and the firm.
3. Limitations of the virtual assistant and blog
The virtual assistant (chatbot) answers general questions about services, location, hours and booking. It does not provide legal advice on specific cases, does not promise results, does not quote fees or deadlines, and does not imply an attorney-client relationship. Blog guides are general information and do not replace legal advice for your case.
4. Advertising and professional ethics
The advertising of legal services on this site is governed by the Code of Ethics of the Costa Rican Bar Association. This site does not guarantee the outcome of any proceeding, does not promise the success of any matter and must not be construed as misleading promotion. Fees and requirements for each procedure are provided individually at the consultation, before starting any work.
5. The Notary Public in Costa Rica (Latin-type notarial system)
For our foreign visitors: in Costa Rica, a Notary Public (Notario Público) is an attorney admitted to the Bar and authorized by the National Notariat Directorate to exercise public certification powers — a Latin-type notarial system, as in Spain, France and most of Latin America. The Costa Rican notary drafts public deeds, certifies the acts and contracts they authorize and records them with public registries. This is not equivalent to the Anglo-American 'notary public' (common in the United States), who only verifies identities and witnesses signatures. If you plan to buy, sell or mortgage real estate in Costa Rica, the law requires granting the act as a public deed before a notary.
6. Intellectual property
The contents, texts, visual identity and structure of this site are owned by the firm. The 'BM' logo with the scales of justice is the firm's mark. Reproduction without express authorization is prohibited.
7. Applicable law and jurisdiction
